After the success of the first edition of Bye Ball in Avarches (Manche), a second 3×3 basketball tournament open to all is scheduled for August 27, 2022.
» With a team of former basketball players from the Saint-Michel d’Avanches club, we are organizing the second edition of this mixed 3×3 seniors tournament. Last year, we welcomed the twelve teams and the spectators who came to cheer them, all in a very friendly atmosphere. It was a great day,” says Mathis Lechtelier, a member of the By Ball organization team.
We’re revamping the event with improvements we can’t wait to share with you.
A 3×3 basketball tournament open to all
Present for the first time at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021, this discipline, approved by the French Basketball Federation, pits teams of three players against each other in ten-minute matches.
The tournament will welcome 20 teams on the René-Fenouillier sports platform, ie approximately 80 players, including substitutes.
Ten Organizers, 40 Volunteers
As for the organization, it would be composed of 10 basketball players or enthusiasts aged 24 to 29, an organization mobilized that day by the basketball club of Saint-Michel d’Avanches, as well as 40 volunteers.
The group stages will take place in the morning before giving way to the final stages in the afternoon. Shooting, passing and skill competition will be organized during lunch.
Village of Fun and Wonders
Plus, a free entertainment village will welcome the general public throughout the day:
- Animation stage with hip-hop music broadcast,
- street art exhibition,
- hip hop and rap shows,
- thrift shop,
- basketball games,
- Bar and restaurant with local products.
A preparatory match for the French Championship
There are also surprises in the program and in particular a preparation match for the French U18 Women’s Championship: USL La Glacerie will face Vitre on Friday 26 August at 6pm at the Robert Duchesne Hall. Also expected is the extraordinary speaker Pierre Salzman of Mondeville.
Elie Jacques Anquetil at René Fenouillier Stadium, Avranches, Saturday 27 August from 9am to 6pm. Price: €30 per team, includes tournament T-shirts and refreshments. Trophies and prizes will reward the best.
