Ivan, why did you decide to join CS Bayeux in the off-season? What were your inspirations?

After my team’s relegation, I wanted to participate at any cost in a national 3rd project that was of interest. CS Bayeux matches what I needed. The club is aiming for top 5. The public is unbelievable. The stands are always full of fans who don’t just watch the game. They live it! i knew the coach too [Gilles Bailluet, ndlr] Since he has already trained me in Ken BC. I really enjoyed the group. I already treat my colleagues well. The club is doing well. in my position undoubtedly the best player develops in the championship [Robin Lecoutey, ndlr] From which I will get to learn a lot.

Despite the result and relegation at the end of the championship, were you able to enjoy your last season at Ken Nord Basket?

It’s hard to enjoy when every game ends in a loss, but I found it at the end of the season with more offensive responsibilities. Don’t throw everything away. We won important matches but didn’t escape from injuries. our trainer [Sandra Dijon, ndlr] Left the club in the middle of the season. I was able to express myself in attack and had my best season in terms of scoring.

The Bayou public will be looking for you this season. How would you describe your playing style to a CS Bayeux pro who has never seen you play?

I am living a lot for my shoots. This was of great use because till Cadet, I used to just drive near the circle and score. I was not able to shoot anything. My game reading is improving year by year. I see the right situations better and my passing quality is improving. after developing with boris [Renaux, ndlr] Explained many things to me. He helped me a lot without knowing it. I absorbed everything I needed. During the preparatory matches, I defended more than usual. It’s not my strong point, but by signing for CS Bayeux, I also wanted to find something else.

You are on the cusp of having a very good season statistically. In all likelihood you will be a student of Robin Lecoutié and Ismael Lebrun. How do you live this role of luxury clown that is waiting for you?

I have lived up to the role of double that is waiting for me. I fully accept it. I don’t stick to fixed ideas. Last year, if I was the number one offensive option, I knew my other teammates could score as well. I didn’t hesitate to make my sacrifice. It is true that when I joined CS Bayeux no one understood my choice after the season I just finished. I just want to win the match and if I have to play only ten minutes for that, but giving my all, I will! I love competition. I love that we are together to win.

You said it before: CS Bayeux doesn’t hide its desire for a top 5 finish. Do you think it has the means to achieve its ambitions?

I feel. Preparation matches are tough because we need time to get used to it. We are all very good offensive players. Everyone wants to prove, but when we are ready of course we will have the means to be dangerous. We all have to put ourselves in a role. The group is dense, but the group is very good.
