MLB: American League Baseball Game Summary, Saturday, September 24, 2022

Aaron Judge won his fourth straight game without a homering on Saturday as his 61st home run tied Roger Maris’ AHL record.

The New York Yankees still defeated the Boston Red Sox, 7–5, to record their sixth consecutive win.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said, “Even for the crème de la crème to hit a home run, a lot of things have to come together.”

“As long as he continues to bat well and make good batting decisions, it is going to happen soon. ,

Judge was 0 for 3 with a walk.

He was struck at first by the plate umpire and on a call from first base in the seventh.

Between the two, he was taken out on a fly ball to center field and made a walk.

The judge slammed the 60th homer on Tuesday. He has since gone 3-for-13 with two doubles, five walks and six strikeouts.

Judge showed frustration at first base umpire Chris Conroy’s call in the seventh.

The packed house of 47,611 didn’t like it either, but the call was hardly controversial. The unrestrained motion in question is often defined as motion.

Judge was going to be the next batter in the eighth when José Trevino was the last out of the inning, grounding out.

Anthony Rizzo broke a 5–5 deadlock by hitting a two-run homer off Jon Schreiber (3–4) in the seventh.

Rizzo tied his season best with 32 homers. He reached this total on four occasions.

New York has lost only twice in 12 games.

After Sunday’s game against Boston, the Yankees will play in Toronto Monday through Wednesday.

Xander Bogaerts, the author of two hits, stole the American’s top batting order from Judge (.315 vs. .314).

Judge leads major league baseball with 128 RBIs.

He has a chance to win the Triple Crown, most recently seen in 2012 (Miguel Cabrera).

Osvaldo Cabrera and Gleyber Torres also hit the long ball for winners.

Tristan Cass and Reese McGuire took the losing cause.

The Red Sox have slumped in their last four games.

A rookie first baseman, Cass exchanged a few words with Judge in the fifth after the hitter was struck out four times.

“Basically, I just wanted to tell him that I really enjoy watching him play,” said Cass, who is 22. He is doing something very special. He’s a really nice guy. ,

The winning pitcher was reliever Lucas Luetge (4-4).

Sunday’s starting pitchers will be Brian Bello and Nestor Cortes.
